Funds Distribution

There have been reports of a lot of bogus fundraising sites online, so we will be posting all of our funds distributions here so people can see where the money is being allocated. Our Fundraiser launched on December 17, 2016. As funds raised become available we will begin to distribute them and document where the money is being spent below.

Broadcast Sovereignty

Our first thought about how to help the Standing Rock movement was to support the documentation of the peaceful actions of the water protectors, and to ensure that the truth of what is happening is recorded and accessible to the public. Numerous human rights violations, illegal law enforcement tactics and violence have been captured on video by water protectors and their supporters. Cellular, Wi-fi, and satellite communications technologies are vulnerable to both jamming and surveillance, therefore, a large portion of our support will be allocated to purchase equipment to reinforce the resilience of the communication network at camp and support those responsible for its installation and maintenance.

As soon as our funds are made available we'll post details how funds to support this issue were distributed.

Supporting Our Friends on the Ground

The fight will be ongoing and no one knows how long this will last. Our friends and relatives from Rosebud, neighboring reservations, as well as members of the Indigenous Youth Council, need financial support to fulfill their mission of protection. Simple things like gas money, food, warm clothing and shelter are needed to fortify their resolve. Many of these people are leaving their jobs and going without pay to fulfill their commitments. We hope to raise funds to support their sacrifice over the duration of this struggle.
